Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Shuttler Yohanes Saut Marcellyno won the men’s singles title at the Indonesia International Challenge 2024 held in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Sunday (25/8/2024).
He defeated fellow Indonesian player Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay with scores of 21-15, 21-7 in the final. From the start, Saut adopted an aggressive approach, allowing him to control the match. His confidence grew after winning the first game, leading to a consistent performance that secured victory in 41 minutes.
“I’m grateful to win the Indonesia International Challenge 2024. This achievement reflects the hard work of the Indonesian badminton team,” Saut said, as quoted by antaranews.com..
He faced tough opponents throughout the tournament, including Arymann Tandon (India), Rasindu Hendahewa (Sri Lanka), Henrikho Wibowo Kho, Kuo Kuan Lin (Taiwan), and Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah.
The victory marked Saut’s third title, following his victories at the Finnish Junior 2021 and Guwahati Masters 2023.
