South Kalimantan Police Bust Network Supplying Meth in Rural Areas

Inp.polri.go.idBanjarmasin. The Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Regional Police has uncovered a drug network in Tabalong that was supplying methamphetamine to rural areas.

“We seized 276.01 grams of methamphetamine from this Tabalong network,” said Senior Superintendent Kelana Jaya, theDirector of Narcotics at Polda Kalsel, in Banjarmasin on Monday (26/8/2024).

Two suspects, identified as IR (35) and FI (35), were arrested during a drug transaction. The narcotics case emerged after the police received a tip, according to antaranews.com..

The tip was processed using the Berdasi application, developed by the Narcotics Directorate for profiling, mapping, data analysis, and network development through an integrated system with 13 regional police stations.

Suspects IR and FI were detected on Friday in Tabalong, while delivering meth. A raid led to the discovery of 19 packages of meth weighing 195.41 grams, and an additional 80.60 grams at FI’s residence.

The suspects face charges under Article 114(2) of the Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, which carries penalties ranging from death to 20 years in prison.
