inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papuan Police Chief (Kapolda Papua) Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, S.I.K., was furious over the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack in Napua District, Jayawijaya Regency some time ago. The attack killed a Mobile Brigadier (Brimob) member, Brigadier Diego Rumaropen.
After the Papuan KKB attack, Kapolda Papua immediately removed the Commander of Company D Wamena.
“I will take firm action against the company commander of Diego, today he will be dismissed,” said the Two-Star General.
AKP Rustam was with Bripda Bripda Diego Rumaropen when the attack by an unknown group of people took place on Saturday (18/6/22).
Kapolda Papua stated that AKP Rustam was negligent because he carried a firearm when he was not carrying out his duties and did not apply a standard procedure for self-protection when carrying a firearm.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kapolda Papua visited the home of the late Brigadier Diego Rumaropen in Wamena to meet the mourned families.
It was previously reported that a Brimob member, Brigadier Diego Rumaropen, was killed by an unknown person (OTK) in Napua District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, Saturday (18/6/22).
To add salt to the wound, two firearms held by the victim were also missing and it is suspected that the perpetrators had took it “It is true that there was an incident where one of our members died,” explained Kapolda Papua.
Propam Chief of Polda Papua, Commissioner Gustav R. Urbinas, S.H., S.IK., M.Pd., said the Papuan Police Propam had examined two Brimob members who were at the scene, initialed AKP. R and Brigadier R.
The incident began when AKP Rustam was asked by residents to shoot a cow in Napua. AKP Rustam came with Brigadier Diego Rumaropen. After shooting the cow, AKP Rustam left the weapon he was carrying to Brigadier Diego. Then, suddenly Diego was ambushed by an unknown group.
