inp.polri.go.id – The North Maluku Regional Police through the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement of the Samapta Directorate thwarted the smuggling of thousands of alcoholic drinks packaged in 349 sacks.
The liquor, which is known to have originated from China, was secured at the Ferry Port, Bastiong, Ternate City, on Sunday (19/06/22). The alcohol is planned to be sent to the mining company of PT. IWIP in Central Halmahera.
Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the North Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Michael Irwan Thamsil, explained that the Team received a report from the public that there was a truck with the plate number of DG 9191 K parked at the Ferry Port to bring the liquor to the company PT. IWIP in Central Halmahera Regency.
“With that information, the team that was led by Iptu Zulkifli Macmud, moved to the Feri Bastiong Port and found the mentioned truck,” said Kabid Humas to the reporters on Monday (20/6/2022) morning.
On the same occassion, Kabid Humas North Maluku Regional Police stated that the team had investigated the truck. From their investigation, the team found 349 liquor from China with 169 of them are Snow Bir (blue) and the other 180 are Tsingtao (green) liquor.
“The evidence and the truck driver then were secured at the North Maluku Regional Police to be questioned further,” concluded Kabid Humas.
