Concerned with the Disaster on the Amurang Coast, Kapolda Sulut Visited the Affected Residents

inp.polri.go.id – North Sulawesi Police Chief (Kapolda Sulut) Inspector General Mulyatno and the Head of the North Sulawesi Bhayangkari, Mila Mulyatno, along with several main officials of North Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulut) held social activity by providing provision to residents affected by the disaster, while also visited the location of the coastal abrasion disaster on the Amurang coast, Thursday (16/6/2022).

Inspector General Mulyatno admitted that he felt concerned about this disaster and sympathized with the people affected by the disaster.

“We are concerned about the coastal abrasion disaster that occurred in Amurang. This provision is part of our effort to ease the burdens of the residents affected by the disaster,” said Inspector General Mulyatno, accompanied by the local Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda)

He also emphasized that the police will continue to secure the surrounding affected area because it is still considered vulnerable.

“This area still potentially dangerous, we don’t know whether abrasion will happen again or not and we have to keep that in mind until there is further comprehensive treatment from the regional government and related stakeholders,” said Inspector General Mulyatno.

To the residents who were affected by the disaster, Kapolda Sulut implored the people to keep their spirit up and be strong in facing this difficult time.

“Stay patient, and of course, you have to stay careful and vigilant. We will also update the newest info on here to help the people who are affected by the disaster,” he said.

In the latest update, there are 33 houses collapsed into the sea, and 33 families or approximately 210 people had to evacuate in two different locations, namely the GMIM Centrum Church Hall and the Lewet Village Office Hall, Amurang District.

In addition, the disaster that occurred on Wednesday (15/6/2022) also destroyed the I’m Amurang Bridge Boulevard, the I’Am Amurang building, public toilets, rest area buildings, two cafes and three cottages.
