inp.polri.go.id – The General Elections Commission (KPU) officially announced and launched series of stages for the 2024 election, last Tuesday, June 14. This means that the countdown to the 2024 election has officially started.
Now every contestant and political party has prepared various strategies to win the legislative, presidential, and regional elections.
For the National Police (Polri), the start of the election stage means the resumption of the big responsibility to guard and secure all stages of the election.
Amid the threat of polarization, the task of securing the election will not be easy. Moreover, there are still intolerant groups who still threaten Pancasila and the Republic of Indonesia.
A communications expert, Rahmat Edi Irawan, saw that the Police were ready to welcome the 2024 democratic party. “There is no need for any party to doubt the credibility and neutrality of the Police in the upcoming elections. The Police will continue to work professionally and proportionally to resolve all issues regarding the implementation of the upcoming elections,” said Rahmat Edie.
According to him, Polri has proven their credibility. This long experience is the “best teacher and reminder” for the Police in acting.
In fact, Polri have anticipated the threat of social polarization or community division among the supporters of the candidate. So, it is hoped that there will be less division among the community in the upcoming election.
General elections are a five-year democratic event, and it should have not damage the unity of the nation.
