inp.polri.go.id – Balikpapan. The East Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kaltim) carried out a series of health service activities in welcoming the 76th Bhayangkara Day. The activity was held at the Balikpapan Sport Convention Center Dome, Wednesday (15/6/22).
A total of 76 tables along with 219 health workers were prepared to perform circumcision on about 750 children aged 5 to 15 years.
The Head of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Drs. Imam Sugianto, M.Sc., and Mayor of Balikpapan Rahmad Mas’ud were seen in that activity. There are also the higher ups of hospital and other stakeholders.
He expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported this activity, including the Balikpapan City Government who had made efforts in handling Covid-19, so that Polda Kaltim could carry out the 76th Bhayangkara Day beneficial series of activities.
“Thanks to the efforts of all parties, the Covid-19 cases in Balikpapan are starting to subside. Because of that we can carry out this activity which two years ago could not be carried out at all because of the pandemic,” said the Two-Star General.
The theme for this year’s Bhayangkara Anniversary is that the Police is supporting economic and structural recovery to realize a strong Indonesia.
“To achieve this goal, Polda Kaltim are ready to help realize making the public health a quality by trying to improve our services,” explained Kapolda Kaltim.
Other than circumcision, the Health Service are filled with other activities such as cleft lip surgery at Bhayangkara Hospital, blood donation, and vaccinations. All of this social services are part of the social responsibility of Polda Kaltim to the community.
“There are 16 participants for the cleft surgery. What’s interesting there is a participant that came from the Southeast Kaltim for the surgery,” he said.
“Today, a mass circumcision was also carried out, which was attended by 750 children aged 5-15 years. The circumcision participants are from the general public, children of TNI and Polri members,” said the East Kalimantan Police Chief.
The Head of Health and Medical Division of Polda Kaltim, Commissioner Dr. Djarot Wibowo, gave his appreciation to all parties who have supported this activity so that it can run smoothly, safely, and in an orderly manner.
“We also prepared two neurologists, considering that this activity also contains risks,” explained Commissioner Dr. Djarot Wibowo.
“There are 62 health workers involved, and 229 supporting operators,” he concluded.
