inp.polri.go.id – Korlantas Polri is ready to apply the plate number or Motorized Vehicle Number Sign (TNKB) with a white base in mid-June 2022.
Head of the Vehicle Registration sub-directorate of the Directorate of Registration and Identification (Ditregident) of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas), Commissioner M Taslim Chairuddin explained that the white TNKB materials will begin to be distributed to the ranks of the Regional Police in early June. “We have the materials, but the plate itself is still in the production process. It is estimated that we can distribute the material to the Regional Polices in early June, and with an estimate later in mid-June, I think the the white base color with black writing plate number can already be used,” he explained. .
Commissioner M Taslim Chairuddin said that at the beginning of the implementation, not all vehicles could get the new plates. For starters, the new vehicle and a five-year expiry date will be the priority.
For information, the difference in the validity period of the TNKB for each vehicle owner is the reason that all vehicles cannot immediately get a new number plate. The application of the white-based TNKB also aims to facilitate the implementation of the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) which is currently being implemented.
The regulations for changing the new color of vehicle number plates are contained in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2021 concerning Registration and Identification of Motorized Vehicles Article 45.
