inp.polri.go.id – The Forensic Lab (Labfor) Team of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the National Police (Polri) has launched an investigation into the alleged shooting incident of the Damri bus on the Pontianak – Sintang route by an unknown person. The involvement of the Bareskrim Labfor Team at the was informed by the Kubu Raya Police Chief, AKBP Jerrold HY Kumontoy, Friday (27/05/2022). He said that until now, his party has not been able to determine the cause of the incident, because the team from the laboratory itself is still working, conducting investigations, and examinations.
“We are still waiting for the results, we can’t predict yet what just had happened,” said Jerrold.
Previously, the bus shooting incident that caused the glass of the bus to crack took place in the Trans Kalimantan Road area, Central Java Village, Sungai Ambawang District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, last Monday (23/05/2022). The results of the field inspection by a team of 5 people will be taken to Jakarta and will be examined at the Forensic Laboratory of the National Police Headquarters to find out the results.
Jerrold also explained some of the things being investigated in this case. Starting from glass shards in the bus area, to the labfor team measuring the glass holes in the Damri bus.
“The diameter of the hole is about 0.5 cm. We will conduct a separate investigation regarding this result,” he said.
So far, the Kubu Raya Police have examined several witnesses, including the bus driver. These witnesses are likely to be re-involved in giving their statements if needed later.
“It is certain, even though this is actually part of a series of examinations. We have also examined witnesses, both from the driver and several passengers,” he said.
