The Odd-Even System Will Be Expanded in Jakarta

inp.polri.go.id – The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya is expanding the odd-even law enforcement system from 13 points in the DKI Jakarta area to 26 locations on Monday (30/5/22).

The expansion of this system is to handle the traffic jams that occurs in Jakarta, especially during the hours of leaving and returning from work.

Director of Ditralntas (Dirlantas) Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, S.I.K., M.T.C.P., said that the expansion of the odd-even system was discussed in a meeting with stakeholders on Wednesday (25/5/22).

Even the expansion of the odd-even system has been regulated in DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation number 88 of 2019 concerning traffic restrictions with the Gage system.

The expanded odd-even points will be applied at Lintu Besar Selatan Street, Gajah Mada Street, Hayam Wuruk Street, and Medan Merdeka Barat Street, as well as several other points.

The addition of these 13 points is in locations where the odd-even system has never been implemented and 12 of them will be monitored by CCTV ETLE.

“So out of these 26 points, 14 of them are in areas where there are no ETLE cameras, therefore, related to the above, we have conveyed several policy decisions to the public,” explained Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya.

Before implementing this system, his party will first disseminate this information to the people until (5/6/22).

After that, on June 6-12, there will be a trial, meaning that the police will not take immediate action with a fine.

“We will them warning instead, meaning that there will be our members in the field, then if someone violates the rules we stop and then we will warn them,” said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya.

Then on June 13, his party will take action against drivers who violate the system.

The 12 points with CCTV ETLE will be ticketed electronically and a notification letter will be sent to the vehicle owner’s house. Meanwhile, the other 14 points will be dealt with directly by members of the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya who are on duty in the field.

“The 12 points with CCTV ETLE are on Thamrin, Sudirman, Sisingamangaraja, Panglima Polim, S Parman, Gatot Subroto, Rasuna Said, Panjaitan and others that we will announce later,” explained the former Banjar Police Chief.
