inp.polri.go.id – The West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumbar) successfully thwarted a drug trafficking of 41.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp62.1 billion. This disclosure became the largest drug trafficking in West Sumatra.
West Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumbar) Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra, S.H., S.I.K., accompanied by the Head of the Bukittinggi Police AKBP Dody Prawiranegara, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., said that the drug arrests were carried out in several locations within the jurisdiction of the Bukittinggi Police.
“Most of the perpetrators are from Bukittinggi and Agam. Based on the data on the disclosure of this case, this is the biggest achievement of the Resort Police to Polda Sumbar,” said Kapolda Sumbar in Bukittinggi, Saturday (21/05/22).
Kapolda Sumbar said that eight suspects, with each different roles, were successfully arrested at the Agam and Bukittinggi. The perpetrators were AH (24), DF (20), RP (27), IS (37), AR (34), AB (29), MF (25), N (39), the total price of these narcotics was around Rp62,1 billion.
The Two-Star General said that two of the suspects were new players and users, three were small-time dealers and three were big-time dealers.
“The death penalty or life imprisonment and confinement pose a threat to them, especially three dealers who carries more than one kilogram. This is in accordance with Law 35 2009 concerning narcotics article 115,” explained the Kapolda.
On the same occassion, Kapolda Sumbar said that the development of the case was still being developed by the Bukittinggi Police.
“I urge and sincerely implore you to raise environmental awareness and mutual concern to prevent the drug smuggling. Let’s save our young generation in West Sumatra,” concluded Kapolda Sumbar.
