inp.polri.go.id – The National Police Chief (Kapolri), Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., ordered the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of the National Police (Polri), Commissioner General Drs. Agus Andrianto, S.H., M.H., to take firm action and arrest any gambling activities, Saturday (21/05/2022).
The order was conveyed in the telegram letter from Kapolri. “In the telegram numbered ST/2122/X/RES.1.24./2021, it was ordered that all Regional Police Chiefs to eradicate gambling, regardless of the form of gambling,” said Commissioner General Agus.
The rise of gambling operating in the Sumatran region, especially Riau, has become the main target for their operation.
“In eradicating gambling, Kapolri said that if there is an officer who supports or backed up the gambling, we will remove the police officer from his position, we would take strict action if necessary, such as dismiss them,” he further explained.
“Kapolri hopes for the cooperation from community elements by reporting any gambling activities to the Police,” concluded the Three-Star General.
