inp.polri.go.id – Â The Bukittinggi Police managed to thwart the circulation of 41.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The disclosure of the methamphetamine case is the largest narcotics case disclosure in Bukittinggi and even in West Sumatra, with an estimated value of evidence of 62 billion rupiah.
West Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumbar), Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra, accompanied by the Head of the Bukittinggi Police, AKBP Dody Prawiranegara, at a press conference said that the arrests had taken place on May 14, 2022.
“We have secured 8 men as suspects with a total of 41.4 kilograms of methamphetamine as evidence,” stated Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra, Saturday (21/05/22).
The 8 suspects are AH (24) DF (20) RP (27), IS (37), AR (34), MF (25), AB (29) and NF (39). The suspects came from the Bukittinggi – Agam area and were arrested at several crime scenes in the two areas.
“This drugs value could be more than 62 billion rupiahs,” said the Two-Star General.
“Based on the data we have collected, this disclosure is the biggest achievement in the history of the Bukittinggi Police and the West Sumatra Police. Previous highest drugs disclosure in our region is only 7 kilograms of drugs in Payakumbuh,” revealed Kapolda Sumbar.
The authorities is still developing the case and it is possible that this could be a drug international network case.
“These narcotics will be circulated in the Bukittinggi area and its surroundings. However, we are still investigating where it came from, we suspected it could be from the Malacca Strait. We will develop this case further,” concluded the Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra.
