inp.polri.go.id – The National Police (Polri) will investigate the perpetrators of the bomb threats at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Jakarta. It is known that the bomb threats were sent by someone via electronic mail (email).
“The Police will definitely investigate and find out where the e-mail came from,” explained the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kabag Penum) of the National Police (Polri), Commissioner Gatot Repli, Thursday (19/5/22).
Commissioner Gatot Repli said that until now the police have not found any indication of a bomb around the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and said that the email was allegedly sent by someone who claimed to be Ivan Ivanov. “Nothing yet, no bomb was found. It’s just a threat. The threat will be investigated by us,” he explained.
As previously reported, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Endra Zulpan confirmed that his party received a report regarding the bomb threat at the Belarusian Embassy. “Officers arrived at the location and sought information on the alleged threat through the e-mail,” he explained.
The Bomb Disposal Team of Polda Metro Jaya has also been deployed to conduct a sweep around the Belarus Embassy building. However, no bombs or suspicious objects were found there.
“After the team checking around the area, the results were nil,” stated the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya.
