Kapolda Jatim Vowed to Eradicate Drugs

inp.polri.go.id – The cases of drugs from the island of Madura is quite high. This makes the East Java Police Chief (Polda Jatim) Inspector General Dr. Nico Afinta, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., and the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, invited all parties to commit to eradicating drugs by making a declaration of “Madura Without Drugs” at the Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) Meeting Building, Thursday (19/5/22).

The Governor of East Java said the high use of drugs had an impact on people’s productivity. There are many side effects that arise from the misuse of the drugs.

“Not only makes the person unproductive, but also damaging their body and behavior,” explained the Governor of East Java.

This damage will not only affect the user, but also the surrounding environment, especially their family.

The Governor of East Java invites all elements of the community to fight against drugs to save the future’s generation.

“The next generation needs us to protect them from the threat of drugs. So we all have to fight to save our next generation,” stressed the Governor of East Java.

Inspector General Nico Afinta said that since the beginning of 2022, there are 143 drug cases that have been solved in East Java. This means, the drug abuse in East Java are quite high compared to other regions.

“That’s only the number from January to April 2022 that we managed to reveal,” said Kapolda Jatim.

The East Java Regional Police Chief said that after that declaration in UTM, his party would form a drug eradication task force in his jurisdiction. This is expected to eradicate drug abuse from the top to the root.

“Many stakeholders have the power to eradicate the drug abuse. We will form a task force consisting of these stakeholders so that the power of drug eradication in East Java is stronger and realized the drug-free East Java,” he wished.
