inp.polri.go.id –Â Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Dr. Puan Maharani Nakshatra Kusyala Devi, S.Sos., or famously known as Puan Maharani, appreciates the work of the Government and all parties who have worked to guard and secure the homecoming trip during the Idul Fitri 1443 H holiday, Tuesday (17/5/2022).
“DPR RI would like to express its appreciation to the Government, TNI, Polri, and all parties, who have worked with high dedication so that the homecoming trip in celebrating Eid this year can run well,” stated the Chairman of the DPR RI.
Even though it has been going well, there are several things that should be optmized. For example, traffic engineering on toll roads has not completely prevented the accumulation of vehicles.
The Ministry of Transportation also admitted this issue which stated that this year’s homecoming has a very large number of vehicles that causes the services on the toll road was not maximized.
“Therefore, we apologize for not being able to meet the expectations of all parties. We will evaluate so that homecoming activities, as well as activities where there will be massive movements in the future, can be anticipated better,” said the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, in a written statement quoted Tuesday (17/5/2022).
This year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration is different from previous years because people can celebrate it with family and friends at their hometowns. After two years of being banned, the Government lifted the ban of making a trip for Eid after the decrease of Covid-19 cases.
“This achievement cannot be separated from our joint work and mutual cooperation in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Puan.
“By working together we are able to give a positive impact, which is the declining of Covid-19 cases, the vaccinations continue to increase, and social and economic activities of the community are starting to recover gradually,” added the first woman who served as Chairman of the DPR RI.
Puan said the spirit of working together in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic is a national force that must be maintained. She also hopes that the social and economic recovery will get better in 2023.
“With the current development of the Covid-19 Pandemic situation and how we handle it, in 2023 it is hoped that social and economic recovery will be better,” said Puan Maharani.
