inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) Ir. H. Said Iqbal, M.E., appreciated the police for helping to secure the commemoration of World Labor Day or Mayday which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK).
He said that his party felt assisted by the police, when they were allowed to use GBK as a place for the celebration of Labor Day.
“Finally, with the help of various parties, such as the State Secretariat, the Police from the National Police Headquarters and the Polda Metro Jaya, we were able to use GBK with several conditions,” said Iqbal at the location, Saturday (14/05/22).
Iqbal said that the police asked that workers comply with the health protocols, as well as suggesting to reduce the number of people who were previously estimated to be present at 100 thousand people, into just half of it to enter the GBK.
“The GBK capacity is around 76,000 people and we want to keep one empty seat apart. Continue to wear your masks, and do an antigen test, and get booster vaccinated. That’s the final agreement to use the GBK,” he said.
In this May Day Fiesta, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also took time to be present in the midst of the mass of workers. The number one person in the Bhayangkara Corps wished them a happy Labor Day directly.
Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., also hopes that workers in Indonesia will be more prosperous.
“I hope the workers will be more prosperous,” he hoped and was greeted with loud applause and shouts of “Long live the workers” by the workers.
The National Police Chief also thanked the labors who participated in the struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic, such as complying with the health protocols and help succeeding the vaccination.
