inp.polri.go.id – The personnel of Noken Community Development (Binmas) of Cartenz Peace Ops, that was led by Ipda Arisandi Tancoma, SH, visited the Noken bag craftsmen in Yokatapa Village, Intan Jaya Regency, Wednesday (11/5).
During his visit Ipda Arisandi Tancoma said that the craftsmen of Noken Bags in Intan Jaya are still having a hard time selling their merchandise.
“The unavailability of a special gallery or stand for the Noken bag is one of the obstacles for Papuan women in selling their handicrafts. Currently, noken bags are only displayed on the roadside and crowd centers, such as at airports and markets,” said Ipda Arisandi.
Ipda Aris continued, while selling and waiting for the buyers, they usually knit another noken bags that they will sell.
Ipda Aris also hopes that they will soon be assisted in developing and selling their goods outside the city.
“We hope that in the future the government will pay attention to these craftsmen and provide a place to sell them,” he said.
