inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. A week before Eid al-Fitr, the volume of vehicles passing through Kalimalang continues to go up by 9%. This increase in volume occurs along toll roads and arterial routes.
“Last night, we monitored arterial routes and toll roads. As for the toll roads, last night we found an increase, although not much, only 9%,” explained the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, Monday (25/4/22).
The increase in vehicle volume is also due to an increase in freight transportation, while for private cars there has not been a significant increase.
Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo explained that the increase in the volume of vehicles on the arterial route had occurred from Friday, April 22 to Saturday, April 23, 2022. However, it decreased on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
“But on Sunday night, the flow has decreased again on the arterial route. Even last night, reports of traffic in the arteries were quite non-existent, especially for the one who used a motorbike,” explained Dirlantas.
Knowing the volume of these vehicles, Dirlantas appealed to the public to be able to carry out Lebaran homecoming earlier before April 28, 2022. This was to avoid congestion or traffic jams.
