The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of Polri’s Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas), Brigadier General Dr. Ahmad Ramadhan, S.H., M.H., M.Sc., said that the Ketupat Operation 2022 was an effort to support the homecoming 2022 to run well and in a healthy, safe and smooth way. This event will be held from Thursday 28 April to Monday 9 May 2022
Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri said that as many as 253 posts were set up, consisting of 239 security posts, 74 service posts, 2 integrated posts, 22 main police security posts. Not only that, there are also 1,136 traffic posts prepared in this year’s Ketupat Operation.
“The objects of handling for this operations are 58 terminals, 64 train stations, 3 ports, 214 shopping centers, 3 airports, 305 tourist attractions, and 10,720 locations,” said Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri, Sunday (24/04/22).
The One-Star General said that a successful homecoming has to be achieved to avoid the spread of Covid-19. Therefore, travelers are required to be vaccinated fully with a booster, as well as continue complying with the health protocols.
“Travelers can prepare themselves by participating in maintaining their own safety on the trip, preparing their vehicles before making a trip, obeying traffic rules, then officers will provide services and secure lanes and help smoothen the traffic,” explained Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri.
He further explained, people who carry out homecoming are expected to be able to manage their timings on making a departure, by monitoring the road conditions based on digital maps.
“If overcrowding occurs, the public can delay their trip and the officers will try to fix it immediately,” concluded Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri.
