inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has officially implemented a trial of the odd-even system on toll roads from Monday (25/04/22) to Wednesday (27/04/22). This is to anticipate traffic jams due to the upcoming homecoming flow.
The Head of Operations (Kabag Ops) of Korlantas Polri, Commissioner Eddy Djunaedi stated that in implementing this odd-even traffic engineering, Korlantas Polri collaborated with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of PUPR. With this system, it is hoped that it will help smoothen the traffic of homecoming.
“We will conduct trials from Monday to Wednesday at the Cikampek Toll Road. As an effort to maintain security, safety, smoothness, and comfort of the road,” said Kabag Ops Korlantas Polri, on Sunday (24/04/22).
In the same place, Kabag Ops Korlantas Polri explained that several sections on the Cikampek Toll Road had been prepared for the odd-even system trial. Among them, is at KM 47 to KM 70 North Cikampek Toll Gate on Monday (25/4) from 11.00 to 13.00 WIB.
“Then on Tuesday (26/4/2022), odd-even will be implemented at KM 47 to Palimanan Toll Gate KM 188 from 11.00-13.00 WIB. Then on Wednesday (27/4/2022) odd-even policies will start at 10.00-17.00 WIB at KM 47 to Kalimgkung Toll Gate KM 144,” said Kabag Ops Korlantas Polri.
If somehow this trial does not work effectively, his party has also prepared a backup plan such as discretionary contraflow system or a one-way system.
“And if there is still a density exceeding the maximum limit, then we will apply a one-way system,” concluded Kabag Ops Korlantas Polri.
