The Bantul Resort Police (Polres Bantul) will intensify police patrols in residential areas to anticipate criminal acts of theft in empty homes of the travelers who go to their hometown in celebrating Eid 2022, Bantul Resort Police Chief (Kapolres) AKBP Ihsan said, after interviewed by Antara, Saturday (23/4/2022).
“Yes, of course, we have been conducting patrols every night, and especially before Lebaran, we will intensify patrols in residential areas to anticipate theft in empty houses left by people,” said Ihsan.
According to him, police patrols in these settlements will begin on D-3 of Eid until D+7 of Eid or during the implementation of Operation Ketupat Progo 2022 or other integrated operations in securing homecoming and Eid. However, people who are going home must also ensure that they left their house well before leaving for a long time, especially the door and other utensils inside the house that could endanger the house.
“For those who leave the house, please also asked your neighbors to watch over it while you are away. Locked your doors and ensure that electricity and so on are safe,” explained Ihsan.
The police chief also appealed to people who were going home to first injected with booster vaccination to protect themselves and their families from Covid-19.
“We also urge people who are going home, to be vaccinated, especially booster vaccines, because this will protect themselves and those around them,” he added.
Regarding the security for the homecoming, his party will carry out traffic engineering on roads that are prone to overcrowding. Around the vulnerable lanes, security posts and monitoring posts have also been established.
“Of course, traffic engineering is needed. Therefore, we will create four security and service posts, then there will be monitoring posts that are distributed in prone areas,” he concluded.
