inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Head of Traccif Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Inspector General Drs. Firman Santyabudi, M.Sc., reminded his officers not to be negligent in securing the Idul Fitri 2022 homecoming. He said this homecoming was different from previous years.
“This is not a simple operation. We are facing potentially around 85.5 million of travelers who will going to their hometown this year and 47% of them are predicted will use land transportation media. So this is not the time to play around,” explained Kakorlantas, at the NTMC Building. Thursday (21/4/2022).
Operation Ketupat 2022 involves 144,392 joint personnel of the TNI, Polri, regional government, and volunteers. They consist of 876 National Police personnel, 87,004 Regional Police personnel, and 56,512 personnel from other relevant agencies. This operation will took place from April 28 to May 9.
Kakorlantas also emphasized that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, paid serious attention to the homecoming of this year. He asked Korlantas personnel not to underestimate this yearly event.
“If we take things lightly, things will get messy. If we take these things lightly, we will not be ready when something bad happens, and we don’t want that,” the Two-Star General explained.
All officers are asked to supervise 101,454 objects consisting of 90,796 mosques, 4,324 shopping centers, 4,326 tourist attractions, 833 terminals, 666 ports, 299 stations and 210 airports. The National Police also prepared 2,702 posts consisting of 1,710 security posts, 730 service posts, and 258 integrated posts.
