Bali Uncover 39 kg of Drugs From Tourists in Nightclubs

inp.polri.go.id – The Bali Police managed to uncover drug trafficking with a total weight of 39 kg from tourists at nightclubs.

“The suspect stored the drugs in the villa, and then circulated the drugs to foreigners who often visit entertainment venues in the Seminyak, Canggu, and Peti Tenget areas,” explained Bali Police Chief (Kapolda Bali) Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday (12/04/22).

Kapolda Bali said that they have arrested three suspects, GOP (49), KS (49), and KSB (36).

The police revealed that the drugs are methamphetamine weighing 35,166 grams net, cocaine weighing 32 grams, and marijuana weighing 2,669 grams net.

And then there is also Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) 7.38 grams net, powder in 796 capsules which contains 151.24 grams of MDMA, pink powder (MDMA) 49.14 grams, and orange powder (MDMA) 1,280.6 grams.

The total amount is 39,355.76 grams net or 39.3 kilograms.

The roles of the three suspects are different, suspects KS (49) and KSB (36) are tasked with breaking, preparing, and putting ecstasy powder into pink and white capsules. Then the suspect GOP (49) played a role in preparing narcotics material, providing a place for storing narcotics, providing tools to break up narcotics, and received the selling from two other suspects.

“This might be our evaluation in entertainment venues, which have started to bloom recently. And the person concerned may see this as an opportunity, which then circulated in entertainment venues of Bali,” said General Bintang Dua.

For their actions, the suspects are subject to Article 114 paragraph (2), 112 paragraph (2), 111 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 35 of 2009 and Article 62 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 05 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics
