The Head of the Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that in general the demonstrations of the BEM SI student alliance are under control.
Especially in the work area of the Polda Metro Jaya, the demonstrations of the BEM SI student alliance can be controlled by the police. Although there was an incident against Ade Armando, which was carried out by perpetrators, not from the BEM SI student alliance. Currently, the police are investigating the case.
The success of the Polda Metro Jaya in guarding the demonstration in the DPR and the Arjuna Wijaya Statue Area was due to the alertness of the police officers in eliminating the mass of high school students from the line of the BEM SI alliance.
It was reported that the Polda Metro Jaya has secured 80 high school students before they joined with the mass student demonstrations in the National Monument (Monas) area and the Arjuna Wijaya Statue Roundabout, Central Jakarta.
According to the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran at the DPR/MPR RI Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (11/4/2022), police officers have detained the dozens of high school students before committing any unlawful acts, then returned them home.
The police are also investigating whether the high school students moved spontaneously or if there were parties who mobilized them and used them to infiltrate the demonstrations.
