inp.polri.go.id – Counter-Terrorism Special Detachment (Densus) 88 managed to secure five suspects of terrorists from the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) in South Tangerang, Sunday, (03/04/22). This arrest is a development from the previous arrest in West Sumatra.
“First is SA, due to his involvement in attending NII group meetings in Green Village Depok. He is also an NII account holder and organizes structure changes,” explained The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police (Polri) Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas), Brigadier General Dr. Ahmad Ramadhan, S.H., M.H., M.Sc., on Monday (11/04/22).
Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan then continued that the second suspect was SO, who is the chairman of the NII in South Tangerang, who was also present at the NII meeting in Depok and was in contact with suspect Z. He also met 250 members of the NII in West Sumatra in 2019.
Karo Penmas Divisi Humas Polri said the third suspect was TA, he went directly to West Sumatra to open a new area. Furthermore, Karo Penmas also stated that MH, as the Secretary of NII Tangerang Selatan, was also present at Green Village Depok, and sent materials needed by the organization via email. Finally, AH, who was the chairman of NII Tangerang City and also went directly to West Sumatra.
“The NII network is already massive in Indonesia. They have already spread in Jakarta, Tangerang, West Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Maluku, and West Sumatra,” he concluded.
The process of recruiting NII members is carried out in a structured and systematic manner. To become a member of NII, one has to go through four stages called “pencorakan” or P1 to P4. Each candidate must also go through three stages of payment.
The suspects will be charged with Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and/or Article 15 in conjunction with Article 12B paragraph (1) of Law Number 5 of 2018.
