inp.polri.go.id – The All Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM SI) Media Coordinator, Luthfi, said the rally in front of the Parliament Building went smoothly and conducive.
“Thank God, today’s action went smoothly and conducive, we started the rally at 12.00 and dispersed at 15.30 WIB,” said Luthfi on Monday.
The All Indonesia BEM rally on April 11, 2022, is a continuation of the rally on March 28, 2022. The point is to reject the postponing of the election or amendments to the election, review the New Capital City Law, and maintain the price stability of daily supply.
The aspiration was directly accepted by the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco, Rahmat Gobel, and Lodewijk, accompanied by the Indonesian National Police Chief (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
In an oration in front of the leadership of the DPR and the National Police Chief, the Head Coordinator of BEM SI revealed that these aspirations were purely from the people’s voice to be conveyed to the People’s Representatives.
“This aspiration is purely from the people’s voice, and we are here to loudly voice it to the people’s representatives. we ask DPR to represent the people’s voices, not the voices of political parties,” said Kahar.
After the aspiration was well received, the masses from BEM SI disbanded and then a riot started.
Luthfi said BEM SI did not take part in that riot. The riot was allegedly caused by the provocateurs and intruders.
“The riots were not by us from BEM SI, our rally was peaceful and our aspirations were well conveyed. After we disbanded, provocateurs and intruders began to arrive,” said Luthfi.
This rally went well and peacefully because it was under the security of the police so that the aspirations of the people can be conveyed properly to the leadership of the DPR.
Luthfi continued, that they will continue to oversee all these demands to completion.
