inp.polri.go.id – The chairman of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, hopes that the April 11 demonstration held by the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI), will run smoothly without violence.
“We hope that when the demonstration is carried out, it will be peaceful, conducive, without violence, and not disturb the public order,” said the chairman of the DPR RI at the PDIP Party School in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta on Sunday (10/04/22).
She asks the students to convey their aspirations without being influenced by other parties. But she did not explain further about the party in question.
“Convey your aspirations as best you can without being influenced or provoked by other parties,” she said.
The Chairman of the DPR RI supported the demonstration as a way to criticize and keep the government in check. She supports the efforts of the students in trying to voice the people’s concerns and welfare.
In its latest statement, BEM SI issued that the April 11 demonstration will still be held. However, the location is no longer in the National Palace but in front of the DPR.
