inp.polri.go.id – Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) H. Ahmad Sahroni, S.E., M.I. Kom., appreciates the appeal of the National Chief of Police (Kapolri), Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., related to the demonstrations. Sahroni fully supports Kapolri’s instructions to the police.
“I appreciate the direction from Kapolri because a humanist approach is needed to prevent any escalation in the field. I think this is also part of upholding the democratic values of the Indonesian police,” said H. Ahmad Sahroni, S.E., M.I. Kom., Monday (11/04/22).
Kapolri explicitly instructed all his staff to guard and secure the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) demonstration in front of the DPR building, Jakarta. General Sigit also asked the security forces to prioritize a humanist approach to maintain the sanctity of Ramadan.
According to Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR H. Ahmad Sahroni, S.E., M.I. Kom., Kapolri has upheld the freedom of expression of every citizen.
“As we know that today there will be a demonstration from students. Of course, this is part of democracy. However, apart from that, which is also in line with what Kapolri said, I would like to remind the police to carry out their duties in ensuring the demonstration runs well, secure and orderly,” said H. Ahmad Sahroni, S.E., M.I. Kom.
