inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked his staff in Papua to increase vaccination achievements. This is done to support the implementation of National Sports Week (PON) XX in Bumi Cendrawasih.
In his directive, the Chief of Indonesian National Police said that the government had made a provision that people who wish to watch the match at the PON XX Papua must have been vaccinated twice.
“Currently, the Papua region is being implemented PON XX where the government’s provisions regarding the public who will watch the video become mandatory supporters of the vaccine twice. This must be done to prevent transmission or transmission, which of course will lead to clusters of crowds,” said the Chief of Indonesian National Police in a zoom meeting with the Chief of Departemental Police in Papua, Thursday (30/09/2021).
The Chief of Indonesian National Police also greeted his staff in the area where the PON was held or close to the venue, including Mimika, Keerom, and Jayapura.
He also got some data about the vaccination rate in the area. For the Mimika area, it was reported that there were 4 PON venues held there. He also asked the ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police and the Health Service to achieve the target of at least 70 per cent of the population having been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, in Keerom, the Chief former of Banten Regional Police received data that 70 per cent of the population had been vaccinated. He also welcomed the achievement of the vaccination rate and asked his staff to ensure that people who want to watch matches at PON have been vaccinated twice.
“Then make sure the people of Keerom who come to the nearest venue have been vaccinated. This is such hard work for all of us, and our colleagues have been able to face the existing obstacles. I appreciate the hard work of all of you who I believe is not easy to vaccinate in the area each,” explained Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
For vaccination in the Jayapura area, the number one person in the Patrol Corps ordered a special strategy to accelerate vaccination in the area.
“From the reports of the existing teams, it is necessary to have a strategy from situational to door-to-door. Therefore, various strategies must really be implemented,” said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ordered his staff to understand to the public that twice the vaccine is a requirement to watch the PON matches live.
In addition to providing understanding, he also ordered his staff to open vaccine outlets at the venue so that people who have not been vaccinated can be appropriately served to meet the requirements to watch the match live.
“Please inform the public about this understanding so that people who watch are confirmed to have been vaccinated twice. This is all done to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 transmission because there is a crowd that inevitably has the potential to cause transmission of Covid-19,” he said.
On this occasion, the Head former of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police appealed to the public not to hesitate to take vaccinations. So that people can watch their favourite sports on PON.
In addition to watching the match live, the Chief of Indonesian National Police said vaccination is needed to increase public immunity against the threat of COVID-19 transmission.
“When the sport is a favourite for the Papuan people, and then our team enters the final, the community can watch live, and the conditions must be two vaccines. So those who are still in doubt don’t be afraid because this vaccine given to increase people’s immunity against the threat of Covid-19 and don’t forget to wear a mask,” explained the Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
