inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Synergy of religious people and Indonesian National Police is one of the main glue in the community’s dynamic, mainly in Papua. Through the KOTEKA programme (Communication of Political Elites, Community, and Traditional Figures), the closeness from the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of Indonesian National Police was fostered in the meeting between Police Commissioner Attendant Dorce Sada, Police Brigadier Robert Maryen, and Police Brigadier 2nd Class Abdulloh MK Fatihin and Mr Jefri, as the reverend of GPDP Burmeso Church.
The meeting was conducted on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 09.00 a.m. in the GPDP Burmeso, where Mr Jefri guided his congregation. The personnel of Binmas Noken of Mamberamo Raya arrived around 09.05 a.m. and were warmly welcomed by Rev. Jefri.
The Binmas Noken personnel addressed their purpose of the arrival of the personnel to Rev Jefri as the religious figure of this Burmeso village to maintain security and order together in Mamberamo Raya. Binmas Noken team was also going around the new church building development. At 09.40 a.m., Binmas Noken handed over contact facilities of basic necessities to Rev Jefri. Rev Jefri then thanked the Binmas Noken of Nemangkawi Task Force for the encouragement of involving religious figures in maintaining security and order in Mamberamo Raya Regency and also thanked for the basic necessities aid for the church.
The visitation to the figures is an entrance of a friendship between Police and community figures in Burmeso village and also a form of cooperation between religious figures and Police in maintaining security and order in Mamberamo Raya.
