Inp.polri.go.id – Papua – Police Inspector 1st Class Widada, Police Chief Brigadier Rambo D Womsiwor, and Police Brigadier 1st Class Pilipus Samtai are the personnel of Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of the Indonesian National Police of Tolikara region. Through the KASUARI Programme (Welfare for the People), they visited a fish pond owned by Mr Yopinus Waninbo in Kendemaya village, Nelawi district.
The visit was started on Monday, September 27, 2021. At 09.00 a.m., the personnel arrived at the pond of Mr Yopinus Wanimbo, and he warmly welcomed them. The Binmas Noken Task Force team then addressed the KASUARI programme.
“One of the activities in KASUARI Programme is the “Police the Farmer’s Friend”. Therefore, we encouraged Mr Yopinus Wanimbo and the local residents to optimise and utilise the land for agriculture and fish pond”, Police Inspector 1st Class Widada said.
Mr Yopinus Wanimbo thanked the arrival and care of the Binmas Noken Task Force team. He also would support this KASUARI Programme. In his fish cultivation business, Mr Yopinus owns ten ponds, but he experienced difficulties in seeds.
The Binmas Noken personnel then said that the fish seeds would be coordinated further with the task Force Command Post in Jayapura. Then, the personnel also distributes basic necessities as the support from the Binmas Noken to the economic wheel movers of the Kandemaya village.
The support from Mr Yopinus Wanimbo as the community figure towards the Binmas Noken programme is hoped to influence people in utilising lands for agriculture or fisheries. It is hoped that farmers or farmers wannabe in the region understands the proper utilisation on lands and garden, either for farming or fish cultivation so they could increase family income.
Besides, the visit is expected to make the farming group feel the presence of Binmas Noken personnel as the care and support from Indonesian National Police to the community, so it fosters a harmonious relationship between the Police and community as the Police partner to build a conducive security and order situation.
