inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas) of Indonesian National Police distributes 1,000 social aid packages to scavengers and street vendors in Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
The event was conducted with the Islamic Students Association (HMI) in commemorating the 66th anniversary of the Traffic Police Corps. Chief of Traffic Police Corps of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Istiono, said this event targets the scavengers and street vendors. One thousand packages are getting distributed.
“We are distributing around 1,000 aid packages for the people in here”, aid in South Jakarta on Friday (24/9/2021).
Chief of Traffic Police Corps of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Istiono, also asked about Covid-19 vaccination to the aid recipients. According to him, public health is important in rolling the economy again.
“I also asked the subdistrict head. He said that around 75% of people around here had been vaccinated. Attention to public health is the utmost priority. If people were healthy, the economy would run because everyone is working. Therefore, the economy could run at the workers’ level and boost welfare to them”, he said.
During the same occasion, the Head of Social and Public Welfare of the Central Committee of the HMI, Imam Rinaldi Nasution, appreciated the Police presence in public. Just like Istiono, Imam said that health and the economy are intertwined.
“Central Committee of HMI indeed appreciates this event because if our health gets better, the economy would also getting better as well. Therefore, the Central Committee of HMI thanked the Police because they let us involved”, Imam said.
Meanwhile, Subdistrict Head of Guntur, Leo Yudhantara, said that Jakarta had downgraded the Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement (PPKM) level from 4 to 3.
He deemed that the economy is now starting to run, so people need help.
“It is indeed that to start the economy again. They really need help. Therefore, we the residents of the 6th Citizen Association thanked the Mr Chief of Traffic Police Corps of Indonesian National Police, the personnel, and colleagues from HMI who have appointed our region to distribute aid”, Leo said.
