Anticipating the Spread of Covid-19, Riau Regional Police Launches ‘Together Save Riau’ Application

inp.polri.go.id – Pekanbaru. Anticipating the occurrence of the third wave of spikes in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, the Riau Regional Police have done it by implementing technological innovations in the form of an application called “Together Save Riau”.

This application integrates information from the Covid-19 Task Force at the Central level, Riau Province, to districts/cities in Riau into one system.

This is inseparable from the experience of handling Covid-19 for two years in Riau and fluctuations in cases determined due to the weak implementation of health procedures and the handling of confirmed patients with C-19 patients.

“The Central Covid-19 Task Force predicts that Indonesia will experience a third wave during Christmas celebrations along with the New Year’s holiday. Nevertheless, don’t let it be lax in handling it; the Riau Police will launch a technological innovation in the form of the Joint Save Riau application,” explained Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, Monday (09/27/21).

Pol. Inspector-General Agung Setya explained that since the beginning of the pandemic that hit Riau in March 2020 ago, the Riau Regional Police had offered to the Regional Government. Finally, the Riau Regional Police made their technological innovation in the Joint Save Riau application.

The mechanism for implementing this application starts from downstream after announcing information on patients who are confirmed positive for Covid-19 from the Task Force at the Central to Riau level. The information is then processed for the data obtained.

“After it was announced that anyone was confirmed positive for Covid-19, 1,483 tracers, who were members of the police in the kelurahan and sub-districts, worked to verify. So the data obtained was truly valid,” explained the two-star General.

The Riau Regional Police Chief explained that members of the police in the village and sub-district immediately went to the homes or residences of patients who were confirmed positive for Covid-19. Thousands of tracers with health protocols (Prokes) verify face-to-face with patients to identify and find out the residents’ complaints.
