Inp.polri.go.id – Papua – There has been a shootout between the Indonesian National Armed Forces-The Indonesian National Police, and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Kiwirok area, Gunung Bintang Papua. On Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 05.15 Eastern Indonesian Time (WIT), caused the fall of (Late) Patrolman First Class Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio.
The incident began when a gunshot was heard from the front of the Kiwirok Sectoral Police at 14.50 WIT caused by the KKB Ngalum Kupel, the leader of Lamek Alipki Taplo. So the Nemangkawi Action Task Force ambushed by opening the perimeter by two personnel, one of which was the late Patrolman First Class M Kurniadi.
When opening the perimeter, a shot caused the bullet to hit the right armpit artery of Bharatu M Kurniadi, and then it was discovered that the KKB jumped into the gorge and fled.
Victims were protected and evacuated to receive medical treatment. At the same time, the team did stealing and standby at their respective posts anticipating another attack from KKB Ngalum Kupel, the leader of Lamek Alipki Taplo.
In his statement on Sunday morning, the Chief of Gunung Bintang Departemental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Cahyo Sukarnito said, “Deepest condolences for the death of the Patrolman First Class (Anumerta) Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio.” At the same time, explain the chronology of picking up the (late) Patrolman First Class (Anumerta) Muhammad Kurniadi.
At 07.16 WIT, the Indonesian National Police helicopter arrived and landed at the airport in Kiwirok District, Gunung Bintang Regency, to evacuate victims on behalf of Patrolman First Class Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio to Oksibil.
At 07.43 WIT, the helicopter that evaluated the victims had taken off from Kiwirok District to Gunung Bintang Oksibil Airport. Then at 09.45, fly to Jayapura.
Currently the body is in the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Papua Regional Police for a post-mortem and buried, while waiting for a decision from the family regarding the funeral of the deceased.
