inp.polri.go.id – Pekanbaru. Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, departing 100 special personnel from the Mobile Brigade Unit of Riau Regional Police on Saturday morning (25/9/21).
One company of Mobile Brigade Unit personnel of Riau Regional Police was departed from the terminal building of Sultan Syarif Kasim (SSK) II Airport of Pekanbaru city. The 100 Mobile Brigade Unit personnel of Riau Regional Police are equipped with unique abilities and supporting equipment to assist security and conducive situation some improvement in Timika, Papua. They would later join other personnel in the Security Task Force.
Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, accompanied by his deputy, Police Brigadier General Tabana Bangun, directly led the departing ceremony at the courtyard of Cargo Terminal of SSK II Airport of Pekanbaru on Saturday morning. The event was also attended by Primary Officials of Riau Regional Police and personnel’s family. The two-star general gave the personnel some special instructions.
“We are departing one company of Mobile Brigade Unit to Timika to conduct operation led by Papua Regional Police, to increase regional security, especially in Timika. In Timika, the personnel will join other Task Force”, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi said during a press conference.
He ensures that the personnel sent for Papua have been prepared well from many aspects such as tactical, ability, and other task supporting aspects.
“And also with well equipment. All 100 departing personnel must return 100 as well. Our personnel are experienced with many kinds of tasks, and we hope they could do the job well to maintain sovereignty and unity of Indonesia”, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi affirmed.
Chief of Riau Regional Police then gave special instructions to his 100 personnel to always being vigilant and prepares well for everything in facing many potential threats.
“This is not an easy task, so I asked you all to be vigilant and prepares everything so you could face any threats and challenges. This is a task with a new and modern pattern, and the personnel have been equipped with the ability to solve everything in Papua”, Chief of Riau Regional Police said, accompanied by Chief of PR and Press Agency of Riau Regional Police.
After the ceremony, the Chief of Riau Regional Police also made time to inspected his personnel that are being interacted with their family during the ceremony. He provided moral support for the personnel’s family. It was an emotional atmosphere.
Chief of Riau Regional Police addressed the family directly to contact the Unit if experiencing any difficulties. This becomes the full attention of the Riau Regional Police.
“We want always to maintain the belonging and togetherness feeling. This spirit would become a part of the personnel’s morale in conducting the duties there. With proper communication, all problems would be listened to and solved. The left-behind families and our personnel indeed get full attention so that there would be nothing to be anxious about. We want to provide the best for them”, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi explained.
