Suppressing the Spread of Covid-19, South Sumatra Regional Police Chief urges the public to apply Health Protocol.

inp.polri.go.id – Palembang. South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Toni Harman appealed to all parties and levels of society not to relax health protocols (prokes) that have been implemented correctly and can reduce the number of cases of COVID-19 transmission.

“Health Protocol must continue to be implemented and even improve in quality, all stakeholders and the community should not be lulled by the achievement of reducing the current number of cases of coronavirus transmission,” explained Pol. inspector-General Toni Harman in Palembang, Thursday (09/24/21)

In order to enforce the discipline of implementing health procedures, the South Sumatra Police, together with officials in 17 regencies/cities, continue to make efforts to disseminate information to the public to remind them constantly to wear masks, wash their hands prevent crowds, and reduce mobility.

Pol. Inspector-General Toni Harman explained that the police are also trying to support district/city governments in enforcing Community Activity Restriction Enforcement regulations and health procedures in public centres and places of business.

The South Sumatra Regional Police Chief hopes that COVID-19 transmission cases can continue to be reduced and make this area still implementing Community Activity Restriction Enforcement levels 3 and 2 into a green zone.

Previously, the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Lesty Nurainy, explained that the Hospital Occupancy Rate (BOR) in the local province had decreased drastically in line with reducing the number of additional COVID-19 patients.

For South Sumatra in general, the current Hospital Occupancy Rate is quite good at around eight percent. However, in Palembang, it is 10 percent, even though it had reached above 70 percent or a warning condition a few months earlier.

To prevent the Hospital Occupancy Rate from returning to a warning position, the party appealed to all parties and all levels of society to support the government’s efforts to continue suppressing the transmission rate of COVID-19.
