inp.polri.go.id – Semarang. Central Java Regional Police successfully exposed child trafficking cases covered as a karaoke place in Tegal city. Central Java Regional Police raided the karaoke place in the Mintaragen Rice Market complex of Tegal city and found several underage girls being employed in the entertainment place. Residents are shocked because they thought the place was a boarding house, not just like other general karaoke places.
The suspected child trafficking happened in Tegal, Semarang, Pati regency, Purwokerto, Solo, and other regions are related to underaged girls employed as sex workers to serve masher man. The children become the victim of child trafficking. The case exposure started from the information on underage girls presence in a karaoke place in Mintaragen Rice Market complex, Tegal city. “When checked, we found three girls aged 14 to 17 employed in the karaoke place”, Director General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Central Java Regional Police said.
Those three children are from West Java. The other three employees were also arrested in this case discovery. They are ES (32), resident of Tegal city, ST (23), resident of Cirebon regency, and SHN (21), resident of Bandung city.
The Directorate of the General Criminal Investigation of Central Java Regional Police explained that the suspects’ role in the search for the victims that are going to be trafficked at the karaoke place. Along with the suspects, Police also seized the room’s bill and booking order for three victims. For their actions, he said, three suspects are subjected to Law No. 35 of 2014 about Child Trafficking.
