We will coordinate with the National Police’s Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) to find out or confirm the cause of the fire, said the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Azis Andriansyah. Wednesday (09/22/21).
The Resort Police chief explained that his party is currently trying to find witnesses to question the incident. He confirmed that the police would conduct a crime scene investigation at the location of the fire.
Meanwhile, regarding the death toll, the police have not found any information regarding this matter. However, it is known that the Cahaya Supermarket on Raya Cilandak KKO street, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, caught fire, Tuesday night, September 21, 2021.
The Jakarta Metro Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) received information about the fire at the supermarket at 07:00 PM. However, the process of extinguishing the fire takes quite a long time. As of Wednesday morning, the fire fighting on the second floor of the building was still ongoing.
In addition to the main building of the Cahaya Supermarket, the fire also scorched around three small shops near the fire site.
