Noken Community Development Unit of Mimika Cooperates with Women of Kamoro Tribe to Make PON XX Papua a Success

Papua – The featured programme of KOTEKA (Communication with Political Elites, Traditional, and Community Figures) of the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of Indonesian National Police, besides creating cooperation and closeness with the people, they also aim to make the 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) 2021 in Papua a success.

One of the activities is the visitation conducted by Binmas Noken of Mimika, under the leader of Police Inspector 1st Class Paulus Rande Ratu with his four personnel: Police Sub-Inspector 1st Class Lalu Hiskam, Police Sub-Inspector 2nd Class Sunarsono, Police Sub-Inspector 2nd Class Jufri Rahmad, Police Chief Brigadier Sugiyanto, and Police Brigadier Tasri, on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

At 15.00, personnel of the Binmas Noken of Mimika arrived at the house of Mrs Flasida Mautapo in Pigapu village, Mimika Timur district, Mimika regency. During the visit, they also met Mr Rosalina Popoka Ukupu, a woman community figure of Kamoro people and head of Kamoro tribe craft art.

Mrs Flasida Mautapo thanked for the visit of Binmas Noken of Mimika region. Despite the long distance, the Binmas Noken team is still willing to visit Pigapu village.

Mrs Flasida hoped that the Binmas Noken team could promote Noken Kamoro craft from the craftswomen of Pigapu women during the national event such as PON XX in Mimika regency.

Mrs Flasida Mautapo also hoped that Binmas Noken of Mimika would visit Pigapu more often due to the long distance, so the Pigapu people were rarely visited by the government or other institutions.

Through the visitation, excellent communication could be formed between the Binmas Noken Task Force and the craftswomen of the Kamoro tribe.
