Depapre – Collaboration between Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) and Depapre Sectoral Police in the SI-IPAR (Polisi Pi Ajar, lit. Police Teaching) programme in Depapre district, Jayapura regency, Papua, invited national figure who is a researcher in the local political development field, Prof Hermawan Sulistyo, and also inaugurated Pijar (Polisi Pi Ajar) Reading Garden and Study House on Friday (10/9/2021).
The event was attended by Prof Hermawan Sulistyo, Prof Juni Tamrin, Mrs Kristin Sama (writer of “Jejak Cinta di Papua”), Police Grand Commissioner Bagijo Hadi Kumijanto as the Chief of Binmas Noken Task Force, Police Inspector 2nd Class Ambo Arjana as the Chief of Depapre Sectoral Police, Mr Willem Oijatou as the community figure of Depapre, Police Commissioner Attendant JS Nuboba, Police Inspector 2nd Class Novita Fonataba, and Police Inspector 2nd Class Chruys RAP Rumbiak.
During the event, Prof Hermawan Sulistiyo, the local political development researcher of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, when being interviewed, said that this event is a part of Binmas Noken, and it is essential because this is the most effective entry point for the kids because every parent has their own important interest in their kids related to the future of their kids.
He continued that this is what has been done by the Police in Depapre through the soft approach to Papua’s problems.
On the same occasion, Depapre’s community figure, Mr Walter Willem Oijatou, when interviewed, said that he is delighted to give this place to the Police, especially Depapre Sectoral Police and Binmas Noken, because it is beneficial for the kids there in studying for their future.
“To Binmas Noken and Depapre Sectoral Police, I thank you very much because you have invited several professors from Jakarta, and they come here in Depapre district to inaugurate Pijar Reading Garden and Studying House. I hope this (new building) could bring benefits for our kids’ future”, Mr Walter Willem Oijatou, Depapre’s community figure, said.
