North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Hands 200 Tons of Rice for Social Assistance to the Presidential Secretariat for Residents

Inspector General Nana Sudjana, directly led the delivery of social assistance from the Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Setpres RI) to the Regional Police, which would later be distributed to communities affected by Community Ativity Restriction Enforcement due to COVID-19. The social assistance in the form of rice was symbolically handed over by Regional Police Chief Nana to four representatives of Head of Resort Police namely, South Minahasa Resort Police Chief, Tomohon Resort Police Chief, Bitung Resort Police Chief, and North Minahasa Resort Police Chief represented by Deputy Chief of Resort Police.

The North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief explained that the total social assistance from the Presidential Secretariat was 200 tons of rice, of which each Polres would distribute 12 tons of rice, and the rest was distributed directly by the North Sulawesi Regional Police.

“The total is about 200 tons of rice. Each City Police and Resort Police ranks get around 12 tons of rice which will be distributed to communities affected by the economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Community Ativity Restriction Enforcement. Then the rest will be distributed by the North Sulawesi Regional Police,” he said.

For the target recipients, Regional Police Chief Nana said that they include workers, motorcycle taxi drivers, fishermen, street vendors, and other affected communities.

“This social assistance is a form of concern from the government. Hopefully this social assistance from the Presidential Secretariat can be useful for people in need,” explained Pol. Inspector-General Nana Sudjana.

The National Police Chief also reminded that when handing over aid to the community, strict adherence to health protocols must be followed.

“I entrust it so that in its implementation, the discipline of health protocols is maintained. We also socialize the importance of 6M,” said the North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief.

Also present in the distribution of social assistance, namely the Deputy Chief of the North Sulawesi Regional Police, Brigadier General Johnny Eddizon Isir and the Main Officials of the North Sulawesi Regional Police.
