Mimika – To support the 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Mimika Regency, Mimika Departmental Police with the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of Indonesian National Police intensifying vaccination to the public in the front yard of Hotel 66 in Mimika Regency on Friday (10/9).
The vaccination event was also supported by one of the Bethel Church of Mimika that helped campaign the event to its congregations to get them vaccinated, either the unvaccinated or for the second dose.
When confirmed, Chief of Community Development Unit of Mimika Departmental Police, Police Inspector 1st Class Paulus Randeratu, said that sixty people had been vaccinated and the event would be continued tomorrow.
“With the approach of the PON XX, we from the Police will use our best efforts to encourage people who have not been vaccinated yet to come to the front yard of Hotel 66 to get vaccinated to suppress Covid-19 transmission”, he said.
With the intensifying vaccination held in the Mimika regency, Police hope that the PON XX event could run in accordance with strict Health Protocols determined by the government.
