Reviewing the National Sports Week (PON) Venue in Mimika, the Chief of Indonesian National Police Ensures Security and Health protocol

On that occasion, Sigit directly checked the readiness of the organizers related to the implementation of health protocols (prokes) for athletes, officials, spectators and other related parties. According to Sigit, discipline health protocols must really be implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“This needs to be paid attention to in the implementation of the health protocol discipline for athletes and all parties involved,” said Sigit in his review.

Meanwhile, Sigit asked all ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police to prepare a security strategy for the success of this national sports event. The goal is to be able to run safely, peacefully and smoothly from all forms of interference.

According to the Chief of Banten Regional Police, the security strategy in all National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua sports arenas must be prepared by security personnel in rings one, two, and three.

“Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police personnel must prepare security for PON implementation in rings one, two and three. Maximize the existing strength,” said Sigit.

The former head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police emphasized that extraordinary preparations were needed regarding implementing the National Sports Week (PON) XX. The strategy for handling and controlling the coronavirus for all related parties must be carried out since departure, when arriving, and when settling during the match.

For participants who want to take part in National Sports Week (PON), Sigit emphasized that they must do a Covid-19 test two or three days before the trip.

“Reduce physical contact with other people for 14 days before departure. Prepare a list of people in close contact to validate the Covid-19 Officer of National Sports Week (PON) XX Grand Committee. Implement health protocols according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, including changing masks every day or 2-layered cloth masks or 3,” said Sigit.

Then when he arrived in Papua, Sigit encouraged Regional Leadership Coordination Forum to actively ensure the implementation of 3M (wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance) and submit Covid-19 test results.

Furthermore, when settling down to take part in the match, Sigit asked for extra strict supervision. Among them, limiting activities or only limited to carrying out tasks and roles. In addition, adhere to regulated health protocols. Then, it is mandatory to report health conditions through the National Sports Week (PON) XX Grand Committee health reporting application or to the respective contingent doctors.

“If deemed necessary, a Covid-19 test will be carried out. Regular Covid-19 tests will be carried out during the National Sports Week (PON), according to their respective duties and roles. According to the Ministry of Health guidelines, if the test results are positive, they will be self-isolated or referred to a hospital. Tracing is carried out on close contacts,” said Sigit.

In addition, the former head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police also continues to encourage Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Mimika to continue carrying out the Covid-19 trial strategy, namely the strict 3M process, strengthening 3T (Tracing, Testing and Treatment) and accelerating the mass vaccination program.

Sigit instructed the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police personnel to assist or synergize with the local Government (Pemda) to accelerate mass vaccination. The goal is to accelerate the government’s target to realize Herd Immunity against the coronavirus.

Strategy and accelerate vaccination in Papua, Sigit said, will prepare vaccine sites in schools to target students and parents. And in places of worship for the community. Later, the acceleration of vaccination will also be door to door to the district or village.

“To reduce the risk of transmission and death due to Covid-19, the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police together with the Regional Government continue to accelerate vaccination. To achieve this target, synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police and the Regional Government and all elements of society is required. In preparing a vaccination strategy, including vaccination attacks, vaccination booths, mobile vaccination, and door to door, when vaccine stocks arrive in large quantities,” concluded Sigit.
