Inp.polri.go.id – Palembang. The South Sumatra Regional Police together with the National Armed Forces and stakeholders will conduct informing related to the Integrated Land and Forest Fire Control Operation System (Songket). This Songket application will also be paired with the Forest and Land Fires Drone team.
South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Pol. General Inspector Eko Indra Heri S, said that his party would do this together with related parties.
“In addition, we have formed a Forest and Land Fires Drone team at the National Police in the District for patrols to prevent forest and land fires,” he said on the sidelines of inauguration of Forest and Land Fires Drone Squad and Songket operator training at Wyhdam Hotel Palembang, Friday (06/11/21).
The Songket application is the first application that applies the closest distance and route to hot spots or hotspots along with the support of water resources and the nearest post in Indonesia.
The Songket application was initiated by the South Sumatra Provincial Government in collaboration with the South Sumatra Regional Police, the World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia, and the South Sumatra Watershed Forum.
The Two Star General said the Songket application is supported by a server provided by WRI Indonesia to the South Sumatra Provincial Government, and the Songket application has been integrated with surveillance cameras (digital smoke) in collaboration with Telkom to be installed on Telkom’s BTS tower in South Sumatra.
The South Sumatra Regional Police Chief hopes that the Songket application will become a trend center for other areas that are prone to forest and land fires, so that South Sumatra is the initiator of the first application with the latest technology in Indonesia.
“Hopefully this application will become a trend center for other provinces, this is the only new application in Indonesia. Even when there are reports from the community in the field, the operator immediately knows the distance and the closest route for this access, along with the location of the nearest water source and post,” concluded Pol. General Inspector Eko Indra Heri S.
