inp.polri.go.id- Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police is ready to secure the Labuhanbatu re-election (PSU). The second election will be held at two polling stations in Labuhanbatu.

The Head of Public Affairs of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi said currently his party is still coordinating with the Labuhanbatu Resort Police regarding the security scheme at the Labuhanbatu Regional Election. However, he did not specify how many personnel would be deployed to secure the election.

“Number of personnel to be deployed to secure the re-election in Labuhanbatu is still being listed,” the Head of Public Affairs of the North Sumatra Regional Police said, Wednesday (6/9).

The re-election will be held at two polling stations on June 19, 2021. The step is taken in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which was declared last Thursday (6/3).

Meanwhile, the head of the General Election Commission (KPU) Labuhanbatu Wahyudi said after the Constitutional Court’s decision they immediately consulted with the National KPU regarding the implementation of the re-election at the two polling stations. Then planned the re-election day at the two voting places (TPS), i.e. TPS 007 and TPS 009, Bakaran Batu Sub-District, Rantau Selatan District.

The Constitutional Court ordered the re-election at the two polling stations due to the use of family card (KK) by eight voters when they attended to vote at the two polling stations. The use of KK violates the voting requirement. It is the electronic ID Card or Letter of Statement from Population and Civil Registration Agency that should be used to vote.
