inp.polri.go.id – Muaro Jambi. The Director of Special Crime Investigation Unit of Jambi National Police together with Muaro Jambi National Police have succeeded in arresting three suspects related to illegal logging or illegal logging in the Petaling area, Muaro Jambi Regency.
Director of Special Crime Investigation Unit of Jambi regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Sigit Dany Setiyono detailed that the three suspects who were arrested with the initials LT, EN Alias IN and MD were secured when the joint team was on patrol with a number of evidences also being secured.
We managed to secure the three suspects when we carried out a large-scale patrol with other stakeholders in Petaling village, Muaro Jambi district, said Pol Grand Commissioner Sigit Dany Setiyono, Monday (06/07).
The evidence that was secured was five cubic meters of wood, cutting tools and some of the tools they use in their daily life. The role of the three actors is to cut or cut wood in the forest. This wood is deposited to investors.
“Their activity is cutting wood in forest areas. Above them are investors who connect forest products with buyers, both in Jambi and South Sumatra. They are paid around IDR 800,000 per cubic,” said the Jambi Regional Police Intermediary Officer.
The types of wood taken by the three actors were mixed forest species, such as meranti wood, punak wood and several other types in the forest.
Until now, the Jambi Regional Police in coordination with the South Sumatra Regional Police are still hunting for illegal logging investors in Petaling Village, Muaro Jambi Regency.
