After reviewing the implementation of vaccinations in three regencies in Central Java, i.e. Blora, Cilacap and Pati Regencies, the Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, together with the Chief of Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Head of the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB), Lt. Gen. Ganip Warsito, inspected Kudus Regency, which has the highest number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Central Java.
The Chief of Indonesian National Police admitted he was very concerned about the increase in Covid-19 in Kudus Regency. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, advised all parties including the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police to be more intensive in managing Covid 19 cases. Based on the data received, the Chief of Indonesian National Police mentioned the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was 7,975 people, while 5,918 people recovered, and died 659 people. This is the concern of the Chief of Indonesian National Police and the Commander-in-Chief in dealing with Covid-19 in Kudus Regency.
“This is indeed a concern for us. the availability of beds in 7 hospitals in Kudus Regency are running low. Of the 393 isolation beds, 359 beds (91%) have already filled. Meanwhile, the ICU room, of 41 beds, 38 beds (92%) have been occupied by, ” the former Chief of Banten Regional Police explained.
According to the Four-Star General, with this condition, Kudus Regency is in a poor condition, especially if there are additional active cases in the surrounding area. For this reason, he asked all agencies, both Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police, to jointly work together to manage the Covid-19 cases in Kudus Regency till everything is back to normal.
“The Covid-19 issue is our shared responsibility, not just the government or the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police. But it is our collective responsibility to break the Covid-19 chain, because people’s safety is the highest law, therefore we all have to move together,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Chief of Indonesian National Police added that currently the Government, Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police need the participation of the community to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. At a minimum, he said, we all remind one another to be disciplined about the health protocol, namely 3 M (wear masks, wash hands and avoid crowds).
The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police added the Indonesian National Police together with the Indonesian National Armed Forces had prepared 8 water Canons for mass spraying in all places in Kudus Regency.
“This Water Canon will run every 3 days in Kudus Regency to spray Disinfectant. The water canon work by following the pattern running according to the direction, first to make the situation healthy, secondly to provide insight to the community, three Micro PPKM (community restriction activity) must be more optimal in managing Covid in Kudu. If it is still lacking, we will add more Canon water, ” as said by the former The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit.
Police General. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, also said he had ordered the Chief of Central Java Regional Police to focus more on dealing with six villages that were exposed to Covid-19 to deploy an company-level unit of mobile brigade troops to guard the village. Thus, no residents will go out anywhere during this self-isolation.
“In addition, all the troops from Babinsa (non-commissioned law enforcement officer posted in village), Bahbinkamtibmas (community police officer), battalion and mobile brigade as well as health workers, all of us are deploying in Kudus Regency. With the hope that we want the Kudus Regency to return to its original state. Our target is Covid must dissapear from Kudus Regency,” he concluded.
