Riau Islands Regional Police Arrest 2 Suspected Perpetrators of Sending Thirty Illegal Migrant Workers

inp.polri.go.id – Batam. The Sub-Directorate of Youth, Children and Women (Sub-Directorate of Renakta) of the General Crime Directorate of the Riau Islands Police thwarted the illegal dispatch of dozens of migrant workers (PMI) to Malaysia from Bintan, Riau Islands, Sunday (6/6) night.

As many as 30 illegal PMIs were rescued by the police. The police also arrested 2 suspects who acted as tekong. They were secured in Batu 16, Bintan Regency.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation (Dirkrimum) of the Riau Islands Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Arie Dharmanto said the thirty rescues victims came from the same area, namely Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Monday (7/6).

“Of the 30 illegal PMIs, 29 are male and 1 female,” explained the Riau Islands Police’s Director of Crime and Crime.

The victims and perpetrators were arrested by the police in Simpangan Village, kilometer 16, Jalan Tanjung Uban, Bintan Regency. Currently, the victims and perpetrators have been detained at the Riau Islands Police for further investigation.
