inp.polri.go.id. – Jakarta. National Police officially extends the mission term of the Nemangkawi Task Force until the next six months. Therefore, the mission term of this special force would apply until the end of the year.
Besides extensions, National Police is also formulating the task force’s operation pattern. “For the extension, (we will) plan this for six months until December 2021”, Operational Assistance of the Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugiarto.
In chasing armed groups, Nemangkawi Task Force has mapped four vulnerable regions: Intan Jaya, Mimika, Puncak, and Nduga regency.
Furthermore, in each regency, National Police has mapped few groups in charge of the region.
Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Police General Commissioner Gatot Eddy Pramono, mentions three armed criminal groups: Sabinus Walker’s group, Undies Kogoya’s group, and Lewis Kogoya’s group.
In the Puncak regency, there are five groups: Goliath Tabuni’s group, Lekagak Telenggen’s group, Peni Murib’s group, and Ando Walker’s group.
“Meanwhile, Mimika and Nduga (regency) have each group: Joni Botak’s group in Mimika and Egianus Kogoya’s group in Nduga”, Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police said.
